5.1 RE-MASTERED COLLECTOR'S EDITIONS

Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds' first four albums are being re-issued in a series that will see the band's entire album catalogue digitally re-mastered and remixed in 5.1 surround sound. From Her To Eternity, The Firstborn Is Dead, Kicking Against The Pricks and Your Funeral, My Trial are due for release in March 2009.

Each deluxe double disc collector's edition will contain the re-mastered stereo album, the new surround mix, a specially commissioned short film made by UK artists Iain Forsyth and Jane Pollard, plus b-sides from the original singles and exclusive sleeve notes.

TURNER PRIZE 2008

Nick Cave will present this year's Turner Prize at the annual award ceremony at Tate Britain on Monday 1st December 2008 in a live broadcast on Channel 4 news at 19.45, following in the footsteps of Dennis Hopper, who presented the award in 2007.

The four artists short listed for the Turner Prize 2008 are Runa Islam, Mark Leckey, Goshka Macuga and Cathy Wilkes. An exhibition of their work runs at Tate Britain until 18th January 2009.

Nick Cave has picked up the ARIA award, his seventh, this time for Best Male Artist at the 2008 Australian music awards ceremony.

Nick Cave is currently working with Warren Ellis on the score for The Road - the film of a Cormac McCarthy novel directed by John Hillcoat. He is also working on his second novel 'The Death Of Bunny Munro', which is due out in September 2009 through Canongate.

HARVEY QUITS CAVE'S BAND
NICK CAVE AND THE BAD SEEDS star MICK HARVEY has announced his departure from the band.
Multi-instrumentalist Harvey, who helped found the group in 1983, is leaving due to undisclosed "personal and professional" reasons - but has promised to work on planned reissue projects expected this year (09).
He says in a statement: "For a variety of personal and professional reasons I have chosen to discontinue my ongoing involvement with Nick Cave And The Bad Seeds.
"After 25 years I feel I am leaving the band as it experiences one of its many peaks; in very healthy condition, and with fantastic prospects for the future.
"I'm confident Nick will continue to be a creative force and that this is the right time to pass on my artistic and managerial role to what has become a tremendous group of people who can support him in his endeavours both musically and organisationally."

Mick Harvey è.. dal vivo, l'ho amato subito più degli altri Bad Seeds
Anche solo per la sua presenza "paterna", perchè ride sempre, perchè io agitavo la mano come una folle per salutarlo durante tutto il concerto e lui a volte rispondeva, perchè.. perchè segretamente sono molto innamorata di quest'uomo.. che suona alle tastiera ma in realtà è davvero un artista eclettico... e ha contribuito in maniera sostanziale al lavoro dei Bad Seeds in questi 25 anni...

E poi io ho visto foto di Nick e Mick che risalgono al '73 voglio dire loro si conoscono da una vita, dall'Australia, e vi assicuro che sono shipposissimi..
Però ultimamente Nick va sempre in giro con il suo pupillo, il violinista Warren Ellis.. è normale che alla fine Mick si sia offeso

Non posso esprimere a parole il mio dispiacere.. mi mancherà tantissimo vederlo insieme ai Bad Seeds ç__ç io avrei voluto fare irruzione sul palco solo per abbracciarlo ç___ç

Mick Harvey era storico un'icona, un guru dei Bad Seeds

si ma poi dovevi vederli sul palco.. Mick che guardava sempre Nick, rideva alle sue battute era davvero tenero

E Nick che si filava solo Warren
E anche quando se ne sono andati, Nick e Warren nella Mercedes e gli altri in una macchina a parte

Andiamo a qualche concerto di Mick? così potrò cmq tentare di abbracciarlo
